Movie Review - The Dark Knight Rises

The final chapter comes away from the Dark
So this was to be the great finale to the trilogy that was Christopher "Memento" Nolan's Batman... But was it or not really?

My humble opinion... Not really!

Look, as most of Batman movies goes this was one of the best to be sure but it takes to many spins and turns, to many characters and to many plots, to many heroes or soon-to-be-heroes and not enough of what you expect of the movie wich is a super-hero kicking the bad guys but over and over.

Maybe if Avengers never did came out, this would be ok. Maybe if the Thor, the Iron Man or any of the big blockbusters that have hyped us for years never came out, this would be ok. But after seing what we saw about super-heroes and super-vilains... this was too much all talk and no action! Sure the action is there but it isn't anything like we would hope or expect.

(Spoiler alert) I for once was disappointed that the premise of Nightwing never came to, Harvey Queen nothing, even Arkam Asylum wasn't that much in the frame. It was all just politics, conspiracy, politics, Bruce, Bruce, Bruce, politics, conspiracy, politics and then maybe, only at the end... Batman!

Really, really?!?! The end is this?!? We're are the culmination of vilans? The endless battle on top of the skyscraper? The team up of the new member of the bat-team? The director, or the studio - Because let's face it Christopher just came out of Inception so come on, he knows his stuff! - kinda wanted to bring a new kind of atmosphere into the whole Batman universe, and to my view it failed.

The Joker made the second movie but this... this was less! And I don't like the fact that Gotham City looks more like Metropolis than anything else.

A very noble (but still disappointing) 3 out of 5!
