Movie Review - Captain America: Civil War

A lot of character make for a poor storyline. Sometimes less is more!
Hey everyone,

Time for another movie review. This time the most awaited Marvel movie since the Avengers: Age of Ultron. After such great film and all the hype about the soo many heroes in this movie and knowing Marvel already having a well oiled machine as to making awesome movies, is this worthy of all the hype? Well... Yes and no!

As far as heroes goes the introduction of the "new" Spider-man and Black Panther are of course points in favor. Great big fight scenes and all the FX you'd ever want or need in any blockbuster movie.

But (yes there's one of those here) I must confess I had a bit of trouble digesting this movie. For once we get heroes just for the big airport fight scene. No context or background needed, just show up and fight. At this point I didn't see this as Captain America: Civil War, I saw this as Avenger: Civil War and that's really what it was!

The villain isn't really a villain, as he has no superpowers and in the end poses no threat to anyone but the two main characters. Comparing this character to Doomsday in Batman Vs Superman was a big disappointment.

Also, Bucky has been on the three Captain movies but it seems we - always - don't know enough of his story. He's just someone that keeps showing up to have a Captain America story but never even has enough storylines to keep us even caring about him or his plot.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the movie! But this felt more like a stepping stone or a chapter than an actual finished movie. All in all... the best Spider-Man movie I've seen since Tobey Maguire!

A three out of five!
