DVD Review - 47 Ronin

Keanu Reeves takes a martial arts role again... this time against demons!

Hello meine lieben Freunde,

Which means "hello my dear friends". I'm back to reviewing some awesome movies this time and today I bring you a Samurai story... 47 Ronin.

For those not familiar with the legend, it is said in Japan there once was a Shogun that was betrayed and after all his samurai were disbanded they swore they would kill the betrayer. They waited for more than a decade not only to kill their Shoguns betrayer but also took their own life after so that the cycle of violence would end that way.

This is a very know story in Japan and so it was decided that it would be a movie. And not just a period movie, but also a fantasy one and in my opinion... I quite liked it!

Look. Yes it's a fantasy movie and yes Keanu has the same expression all the time but remember, before Pirates of the Caribbean and Johnny Depp nobody would ever think of making a movie like this and in the same way this movie does what it does pretty well. It keeps you entertained throwout the hole film with a bit of history, period scenes and great action.

If you wanna have a good sunday afternoon flick you can't go wrong here!

A good 3 out of 5!
