DVD Review - Edge of Tomorrow

Time for another great review by yours truly and this time I bring you quite the surprise. I'm sure that most of you have failed this movie on theaters giving the poor box office it got and I'm sure we all thought the same thing "Oh it's just another Tom Cruise, lady girl sci-fi action movie! It even looks like Elysium a bit! How many will Tom make before we get saturated with this?!" And, just like me, you didn't go see it. Unfortunately... we were wrong!
This is a great movie! Not because of the action or the sci-fi setting - we already had lots of those before - but by the concept and story of this movie that is just mind-blowing on all counts. This could very well be one of the best Tom Cruise movies, just as good as Minority Report a few years back. Yes, Minority Report. It's that good!
Of course what this movie fails is on the least expected side... the visuals!
Most of this you've either seen on another alien movie, on Avatar, on Matrix or even on Elysium. This was so bad that most people saw the trailer and decided not to go see it. Simply because it was more of the same thing! But if they knew how the story is told (and re-told) and just how cool this movie is (with some different visuals maybe) they would of packed theaters with it.
This is like Memento meets Saving Private Ryan but with an out of earth invasion on top. I advice you to see it and please... give kudos to Tom! He well deserves them on this one!
