Anime review - The Boy and The Beast (Bakemono no Ko)

It's such a great "little" anime movie that I'm sorry that they didn't take it a bit further!

Hey everyone, time for something different that I haven't done in a loooooong time... Anime! To start things off let's take a look an an old time awaited of mine, "The Boy and The Beast" - or Bakemono No Ko - by Mamuro Hosoda.

If you follow up on anime, this is the same director that already bought us such great films as Summer Wars (2009) and Wolf's Children (2012). I really enjoyed these movies (although being completely different) and was looking very forward to this one too.

And is does not disappoint! A good moving story with lots of gags and emotional moments. Great animation and a great display of different sets and characters.

However... The story does go a bit back and forth and there's not nearly enough action as I would like. Still it's a pretty decent anime for a Sunday afternoon so please do check it out if you are an anime fan.

A most comforting three out of five!
