DVD Review - The Fate of the Furious

The movie makes as much sense as this poster...
Well, this was unexpected!

I've only been a fan of this franchise ever since Tokyo Drift movie. In that film we had a story about a boy adapting to a foreign environment with a little romance on the mix. Sure, there was cars but that was a bit secondary to the whole plot.

Ever since then the stories of the franchise have been more about the characters than the cars themselves. The thugs vs the cops, the mission above the ego of each one. That was always the simple truth of these movies and they've done a good job... until now!

This is simply the worst movie of Fast and Furious ever since 2 fast 2 Furious.

The plot is a sad excuse for them to team up again. There's just no point to the story for them to even be together. The introduction of a "super-villain" is just ridiculous and the whole movie is just one more over-the-budget-car-sequence to the another without any really real reason or logic.

The only good thing about this movie is the unbelievable chemistry between Jason Stathan and Dwayne Johnson. To me, they should shift the whole franchise to them since there's no real reason for Vin Diesel to keep coming back to help one or another or himself anymore.

I don't expect a lot from these kind of movies. They're basically an excuse to drink refreshments and eat popcorns but in this case... I couldn't even do that!

A very basic two out of five!
