DVD Review - Ocean's 8

This banner gives up a pretty much what's supposed to be a "twist" in the movie. Oh well...

Heist movies are always entertaining and Ocean's movies have been pretty much that so far. When this movie was announced I kinda felt it would be cool to have a new take on the whole Ocean's franchise, this time introducing an all out women top cast surely was something captivating. I figured they would use the same formula here and we'd have a cool, fun movie. Sadly... I was wrong!

Yes, the cast is awesome but the problem with this movie is not only the story (I'll get to that later) but each character seems to not have any backstory whatsoever. Apart they're being rounded up for the heist, they have no connection to each other (except for the three main) no code, no lingo, no gag's, no history, nothing. I found this really disappointing cause I was hoping for a reunion of old con women and all I got was the next thief on the "phone book" with no connection or relation between them whatsoever.

To make matters worse, the story is a big pile of nothing. In the end we're left with a side story to an even greater one and not even a good one at that, and a ex-boyfriend revenge for being a coward. I mean, there's not even a villain here. Someone we could look and say "hope this guy/girl get's what's coming to him/her at the end". It's just "Mewh, the guy was a douche!"

The movie is so bad that there's not even any point seeing it again since almost all the movie has no point when you get to the end. All in all, not a good heist movie and an even worse Ocean's movie considering the formula was already more than overused for three movies and it worked fine!

See it once, forget it after. A one out of five.
