News - UFC 158: George St. Pierre Vs Nick Diaz

Promised to be the fight of the decade... and it didn't disappoint!

Hey guys,

This time I bring you something a little different. As you may or may not know I'm a martial arts practitioner for a few years now and I'm an enthusiast about the fighting world, so yesterday I just had to see one of the bigest fights on UFC history.

I'm in Europe so I had to wait until like 5AM to see this (and to tell you the truth the only time I did that was for the MayWeather - Ortiz sucker punch) so I was expecting a lot more this time. And I was not disappointed!

If you're not into fighting world this was another great rivalry that was coming to term since Nick Diaz was promised a title fight with George St. Pierre a few year ago but was denied the fight doe to an injured knee by George who some said was a "fake". This time it was an all out fight with the title on the line!

St. Pierre dominated from beginning and didn't let many openings for Diaz to step up his game. Diaz is a great boxer standing up and has a good ground game but GSP, well he's the champion and he was really prepared for the fight. Punching, ground game, kicks, he did it all and it all seemed to work.

Nick Diaz tried as best he could to boxe his way into victory (and he even did some damage) but he just couldn't stop George's game. He punched first from a distance, brought him to the ground and even elbowed him a couple of times, always dominating the fight.

GSP dominated form the start and never stop the pressure on Nick Diaz

After a while it was clear Diaz was in trouble but St. Pierre never took it too far or got mad or anything. He calmly and objectively continued gaining points and won by unanimous decision.

The Champion remained champion and all rivalry was set aside when George St. Pierre commended Nick Diaz on a good fight.

It was a great fight from two awesome athletes... who made history that night!
