DVD Review - Hercules

I know what you're thinking. With a poster like this the movie must be awesome right?! Ah... no!
Now here's a movie most of us strong bearded guys were waiting for.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson back to his muscle acting action roles. Lot's of fun, big battles and loads of special computer effects to top it all right?!... Wrong! Here's why.

You know all those CG battle monster effects you seen on the trailer? Yes, all that battle over the top that you are so excited about to see on the big screen?! Just the first five minutes of the movie. Sorry!

We known all too well the legend of Hercules, son of Zeus, and his twelve labors after the death of his family by  the goddess Hera, and most of us were expecting just that out of this movie. I mean that's what they were showing us right?! But no, the story is completely different and portraits more a war between two nations where Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) is caught in the middle.

So, no CG battling monsters, no actual legend on the movie, just your lower average greek mythology adventure. Nothing too fancy or too pricy to see really. A simple lazy action Sunday afternoon movie.

And for that reason... I was very disappointed! Shame on you Hollywood.

A "below average" two out of five.
