DVD Review - Mr. Peabody and Sherman

An fun historical animation adventure about a dog and his boy! Yes... You read it right!
Who likes animation movies?

Of course, everybody loves them! Fortunately Dreamworks makes the best around as we all know and this is no different. However it hits a few snags...

Peabody and Sherman is based on characters that first appear in the 1960's The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show that I really don't know much about since I wasn't even born then and now they get a great boost to a full digital 3D movie. The animation is great and most physical gag's are what we are used to by the great studio that brought us Kung-Fu Panda and How to Train your Dragon. Every kid will want a parent like Peabody and it's a great way for kids to get interested in science or history. But, as I've stated before, not all is well in this one.

First problem (right there) people don't know the characters or the universe! Second problem: there's way to many historical figures and jokes or gags about their life. Remember, most kids haven't even heard about these people, less alone why some jokes are made about them. It got so confusing, even I had a hard time keep up with all of them. Third (and last) problem: The way Mr. Peabody talks is just too complex for kids. The first 15 minutes of the movie he makes a kind of monologue that takes too much time and will make every kid just pull their hair out.

But, I'm an adult so I enjoyed the movie, got most jokes, most gag's but still Mr. Peabody was irritating halfway into the movie.

Because I think it's a bit complex for kids, I'll give it a 3 out of 5.
