DVD Review - Act of Valour

It's not about the politics. It's not about the guns. It's about getting shit done and getting back to tell about it!

First and foremost I must tell you that I am a big fan of documentaries. Any kind: Nature, Science, History, you name it. I like to learn or maybe just get a new perspective on a subject, and of course military men and weapons are always a cool subject.

This movie covers some missions by the Navy Seals which, we all know, are one of the best special forces group in the world. They do every kind of mission in no matter where scenario, so that's a pretty dope all in it self (although I'm more of a French Foreign Legion or SAS kind of guy).

Also, this movie has no actors. That's right, the movie has soldiers and as soldiers they can't act to save their lives, which is kind of amazing how they come out as such good troopers all together. This movie delivers a great bunch of information in a very cool (and explosive) way. A simple script, no big twists or plot. Just lots and lots and lots of gun blazing, grenade blowing, camouflaged men in good old fashion action.

And on that note the movie is excellent! Yeah, you heard me... Excellent!

Forget Transformers, forget Black Hawk Down, forget The Expendables. This right here is some of the best filmed, suspence drivin, action balanced, military missions you'll ever see on screen. For the real old directors, you'll feel like you should be holding a PS3 controller at some point but as for me... that's just fine!

Is this a good movie? No. Is this some great piece of cinematography? Not by a long shot. Will you be amazed and have a better perspective on the military role on the world actions? I don't think so. Will you see some of the best in camera thrilled military action ever recorded? Most definitely!!!

A "OOH-RAH"  3 out 5.
