DVD Review - The Hitman's Bodyguard
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and also had some time to view some cool movies. I know I did so now... Time for some reviews!
As you may or may not know, I'm a fan of Ryan Reynolds for quite some time so the idea of teaming him up with "Avengers" Director Fury seems like a cool enough plan for an action movie right?! You're damn right it is!
Both characters bring their signature actor marks to this movie. They also work really well as a kinda "Lethal Weapon" duo. It's a fun movie, a simple enough story and a good time to spend your afternoon with this light comedy filled with action moments.
Only downside is that it's all about clichés! Netflix (the producers) has, for some time now, tried to find right recipe using what some call "meta-data", which simply means they're analyzing toons of polls and statistics to get the right recipe for a movie or series - If you didn't know, "House of Cards" used meta data and here's the link to prove it! - and on this movie it seemed (too much) like they used it again.
The movie does not offer a particular version or view from a certain director or writer. It seems too much like they pieced together what could work as a cool movie, design it to a specific audience and just rolled with it! Too bad.
This "happy meal" of a movie gets a three out of five!
