News - Destiny 2: Forsaken

As many of you may know by now, yesterday was the main reveal of the new Destiny 2 content programmed to release this Fall on September 4th.

I'll be the first one to admit it looks pretty amazing! We're getting new weapons, new powers, new missions, a new raid, so all in all it's pretty amazing! After all this you'd think I'd be pretty pumped up about this new DLC right!? Wrong.

Destiny 2 was sold mainly with a season pass that cost 120€ (EU) last year and we didn't even knew what Curse of Osiris or Warmind was gonna be like. And now they have a thing called "Annual Pass" (which basically it's another word for season pass) for an additional 30€ of the Forsaken DLC. Basically making people who already bought the Season Pass pay up 70€ for new content.

But you're thinking "So?! It's a new expansion, so why not charge full game price?!"

If the game was awesome now and everyone was asking for additional content, maybe that would make sense but the truth is, most of the Destiny community was leaving the game and some were just hoping this new DLC would be good enough to come back or even start the game anew but if they're going to charge you this much, you just might not return or enter at all.

Mind you, people who paid the Season pass last year were mostly disappointed and now they're bringing the same deal again. That's just ridiculous!

What Bungie should of made is "Here you go guys! 40€ for who ever has season pass and 70€ if you're just getting in. Enjoy! And we'll also have some new stuff along the year free of charge!"

Black Armory,  Penumbra and Joker's Wild are in the Annual Pass. What do they consist? No one knows at this point.

But you're thinking "Why would they do that?!"

Because that's what The Division (Ubisoft) did! That's what Warframe (Digital Extremes) does! That's what any game company that cares about their community does! And they're forgetting there's Anthem (BioWare) and The Division 2 just around the corner. Are they seriously thinking that the faith in Bungie and Destiny is so great that players would be ok with this?!

Not to mention most top games now are actually free-to-play like Fortnite (Epic) or PUBG (PUGB Corporation) just to name a few. I feel Bungie is pushing the limits of the patience (no to mention the wallet) of most players now!

Current PSN US Prices for Destiny 2 and Season Pass. Better get them while the getting is good!

To try and end on a lighter and positive note, all is not lost! At the time of this article the Playstation Store US has dropped prices on the Season Pass and the Deluxe Edition of Destiny 2 so maybe, if they make a similar deal closer to the launch for Forsaken, players will still be able to play Destiny at the price of a normal game.

If not... gamer do have other options!

Thanks for reading. Cheers.
